The International Conference on “Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Asian Universities”, hosted by the University of Da Nang (UD), was officially opened in the morning of 10th October, 2018 with the participation of about 30 representatives from international and national universities.

The Conference has been an important activity under the Hub4Growth Project, which currently is entering its final stage, has basically completed its objectives and is preparing to submit its final reports to the EACEA.

The Conference was home to 15 presentations distributed in 5 sessions led by international and national experts, scientists and other speakers in a two-day event (10 – 11 October). The Conference aimed to connect entrepreneurs, industry and academia from Asian and European institutions, creating a strong entrepreneurial environment for Asian university students.

In addition, the Conference was an opportunity for the universities to share the results achieved under the Project, the experiences that the partners have accumulated in the process of cooperation with enterprises supporting entrepreneurship projects for students … Since then, a number of guidelines and policies have been set out to further accelerate innovation activities in the future.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, President of the University of Danang, emphasized: “Being a key regional, multidisciplinary, multilevel university, one of the three urban caliber universities of the country, UD has built up and developed strong cooperation with businesses and we have 35 research centers for technology transfer and application. These centers have contributed greatly to the research, application development and start-up support to students”. He strongly believed that the results of this project will have a positive impact, contributing to improving the quality of training, research and technology transfer in UD as well as partners universities in the coming future.
